Position
The principal function of this position is to optimize the Czochralski Silicon Crystal Growing process with respect to yields, quality, productivity and cost. Optimization includes recipe revisions, equipment upgrades and improvements, consumable part usage reduction, process and personnel ergonomics, safety considerations, development of new processes, working directly with vendors, improvement in metrology tools and collaboration with customer to improve their cost, quality and yields.
Primary responsibilities for this position include: Execute projects to develop new processes, equipment and achieve established goals of optimization. Troubleshoot process and quality problems. Develop processes, tools and techniques to expand the use of low grade silicon in the Crystal Growth process. Work closely with Production, Maintenance, Quality and Engineering to address process and equipment issues and to develop improvements. Implement the use of Statistical Process Control on processes and metrology tools. Maintain resistivity control of product. Control furnace graphite design and usage. Write technical reports of evaluations, tests and qualifications. Maintain knowledge of PV industry and especially CZ Silicon Crystal Growing. As necessary, performs other related duties of which the above are representative.
Requirements
The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education and experience: Bachelor's degree in chemistry, physics, electrical engineering, material science, mathematics or related field. 8 or more years experience in silicon crystal growing. Must have extensive knowledge of CZ process in a high production environment. Must have knowledge of PV industry. Familiar with ISO 9000 principles. AutoCAD and Microsoft Office application experience a plus.
