Position Plans and conducts communications program designed to create and maintain favorable public image for employer or client by performing the following duties.
Primary responsibilities for this position include:
Creates, implements and oversees communications programs that effectively describe and promote the organization and its products including graphics, brochures, company or product fact sheets, logos, or other promotional products. Confers with production and support personnel to coordinate production of television advertisements and on-air promotions. Manages the research and development of content for publication of products. Researches data, creates ideas, writes copy, lays out artwork, contacts media representatives, or represents employer directly before general public. Purchases advertising space and time as required. Oversees the preparation of presentations and/or speeches geared toward employees, community groups, political organizations, NGO’s. Plans and directs development and communication of information designed to keep public informed of employer's programs, accomplishments, or point of view. Represents employer during community projects and at public, political, social, and business gatherings. Arranges for public relations efforts in order to meet needs, objectives, and policies of individual, special interest group, business concern, nonprofit organization, or governmental agency, serving as in-house staff member or as outside consultant. Prepares and distributes fact sheets, news releases, photographs, scripts, motion pictures, or tape recordings to media representatives and other persons who may be interested in learning about or publicizing employer's activities or message. Promotes goodwill through such publicity efforts as speeches, exhibits, films, tours, and question/answer sessions.
Requirements - May require bachelor's degree in area of specialty and at least 3-5 years of experience in field or in a related area.
- Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
