Hillsboro is located approximately 20 miles west of Portland, OR, in the heart of the Pacific Northwest and the “Silicon Forest”, where clean hydro-electric power and a trained high-tech workforce provide an excellent climate for growth. The site is currently under reconstruction, with an investment of over $400 million. The State of Oregon has pledged to support these investments with property and business energy tax credits, making this an ideal new headquarters for US expansion.

Together with the expansion of the silicon wafer production at Freiberg/Saxony to also 500 MW, the group will have a total global production in excess of one Gigawatt (1,000 Megawatt). This expansion has created a large number of new job opportunities at the Hillsboro location.
