For more than 40 years SolarWorld Americas’ module have been installed on coastal areas and on islands like Puerto Rico, Hawaii and countless locations in the Caribbean. Thanks to our robust real world experience, Sunmodule Plus and XL modules are Coastal Area Salt Tested Salt Resistant (CoAST).

We have taken our experiences over 40-plus years of manufacturing and combined it with our robust module construction. SolarWorld’s high quality modules are manufactured featuring our PolyARMOR™ module backsheet, Perma-Sil™ junction box sealing to enclose critical electrical connections against moisture intrusion and Infinitee™ frame technology for superior strength, aesthetics and water drainage. Combined, we test our modules to meet and exceed the international standard IEC 61701:2011, “Salt mist corrosion testing of photovoltaic modules,” Severity Level 6, the most severe salt exposure level.

What does this mean for your customers?

You can install Sunmodule Plus and XL panels near bodies of salt water with no restriction on distance; the panels should not come into continuous contact with salt water. Always use corrosion resistant hardware and mounting systems.

You can download our IEC 61701:2011 certificate, and Technical Bulletin 1022, “SolarWorld Americas Module Installations on the Coast and on Farms and Ranches,” at www.solarworld-usa.com/technical-downloads/warranties-certifications.
