SolarWorld introduces solar PV kits for Oregon at the Northwest Solar Expo

Hillsboro, OR, April 19, 2008 - SolarWorld, the largest maker of solar PV products in the USA, is presenting specially designed Sunkits® for Oregon homeowners during this weekend's Northwest Solar Expo at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland. Widely used throughout Europe and California, SolarWorld's Sunkit product is a factory-designed solar PV system that electrical contractors can install as an appliance. The Sunkit designs have been optimized for Oregon's unique incentive and regulatory requirements. Dozens of electrical contractors in Oregon have already been trained to install Sunkits and are getting registered with the incentive programs during the Expo. Contractor trainings have been held, additional events are being planned for Salem and Eugene this summer.

SolarWorld is a proud sponsor of the NW Solar Expo, which in less than three years has become the largest and most important solar show in the Pacific Northwest. "With our new 500 MW factory in Hillsboro, we are very happy to have such an important industry event nearby," says Boris Klebensberger, COO of SolarWorld and President of SolarWorld Industries America. SolarWorld's booth is open to the general public on Saturday April 19th from 10 AM to 6 PM and Sunday April 20th from 10 AM to 4 PM.

In addition to unveiling Oregon Sunkits, SolarWorld plans to conduct a recruiting campaign at the NW Solar Expo for the Hillsboro factory, which will employ several hundred new people by the end of the year. SolarWorld recruiters will be collecting resumes during the entire event.

SolarWorld's PV cell factory in Hillsboro will be fully on-line this fall. A date for the big grand opening celebration will be announced soon.
