FAQ’s

Q: What day and time should I arrive in Portland?
A:
We encourage you to arrive the evening of Monday August 18th as our event starts early on Tuesday morning. Breakfast starts at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, with opening ceremonies commencing at 8 a.m.

Q: What day and time should I plan to leave Portland?
A:
We highly encourage you to stay Wednesday night, as this will allow you to attend all of our Wednesday activates, including the Summit After Party. Those of you who plan attend Thursday to participate in our NABCEP accredited installation training, focus groups, tours, video filming or other strategic meetings, can fly out Thursday evening or Friday morning for optimal convenience. Thursday night will be a great opportunity for business dinners with your SolarWorld account managers or other executive team members. If you have specific questions about attendance or early departures, please contact our summit coordinator (Roxie.Brown@SolarWorldUSA.com).

Q: Where should I book my hotel?
A:
We have arranged for a group rate at the prestigious Hilton Executive Towers, downtown Portland. This hotel is in the heart of Portland and is only a block away from the metro lines, restaurants, coffee shops, and more. Our event will take place at the Hilton all day Tuesday and again Wednesday night for the Summit After Party. If you plan to book elsewhere, please alert the summit coordinator as your complete RSVP is based on your registration AND your room booking, and we will not want to exclude you from any of our events due to this (Roxie.Brown@SolarWorldUSA.com).

Q: Will there be transportation provided during the event or will I need to rent a car?
A:
You will NOT need to rent a car. All transportation will be provided during the event with the exception of airport transportation. There is a highly convenient public transportation system in Portland that runs directly from the PDX airport to the Hilton Towers. This ride takes roughly 30 minutes and costs $2.50. There are also airport shuttle options, taxi’s and town cars we will be recommending in the months leading up to the Summit, but take it from us, the Max (Portland’s public light rail system) is the cheapest option. (On the Max, get on the Red line towards “Portland City Center” and get off at Pioneer Square).

Q: How many attendees can attend?
A:
We recommend bringing three attendees; this will allow you to send at least one representative to every seminar, covering all tracks of interest.We may allow for a fourth attendee on a case by case basis. To make requests of this nature, contact the summit coordinator (Roxie.Brown@SolarWorldUSA.com).

Q: What if I want to come early or stay at the hotel after the summit?
A:
You are encouraged to make this an extended trip! We specifically negotiated our group block contract with this in mind. Feel free to extend your stay into the weekend, or the days prior, and you will be guaranteed the group rate, per room availability.

Q: What if I need to change my travel plans?
A:

Q: Are there any registration fees?
A:
Early registrations are FREE (May 15-June 6th), regular registrations are $25 (June 7th – July 16th) and late registrations are $45 (July 17th – August 8th). We encourage you to register early!

Q: Will I be able to take pictures during the factory tours?
A:
No. For reasons of proprietary technology, no photos or video will be allowed during the tour. There will be a professional photographer on site to take pictures of your team in front of our factory.

Q: Will the trainings be technical?
A:
Yes, the product trainings by SolarWorld and our sponsoring vendors will be technical. There will be a new seminar track added this year specifically for technical installation topics and this year’s optional third day that will offer an 8 hour NABCEP accredited installation course.

Q: I have special dietary needs. Will they be accommodated during the event?
A:
Yes. We will gladly accommodate special diets. A survey will be sent to all attendees prior to the event in which you can make your needs clear. Breakfast and lunch will be provided all three days, and dinner will be provided Tuesday night during the dinner party.
