System Overview:

  • Construction is currently underway for this Los Angeles Department of Water & Power project that will power more than 2,500 Southern California homes each day
  • Over 25 years, this power plant will eliminate 366,859 tons of CO2 emissions, which is equal to planting 13.7 million trees
  • This project will contribute to the state mandated Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS) that has a targeted achievement of 20% of energy for the utility from renewable energy sources by 2010, and 35% of energy from renewable energy sources by 2020.
