System Overview:

Construction is currently underway for this Los Angeles Department of Water & Power project that will power more than 2,500 Southern California homes each day
Over 25 years, this power plant will eliminate 366,859 tons of CO2 emissions, which is equal to planting 13.7 million trees
This project will contribute to the state mandated Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS) that has a targeted achievement of 20% of energy for the utility from renewable energy sources by 2010, and 35% of energy from renewable energy sources by 2020.
